Media relations and training

Maybe it’s our award-winning journalistic background, or the fact we just have a good nose for a story anyway, but media relations is our speciality and one of the PR tools most successfully and frequently brought to bear for our clients. Our relationships with some of the media we speak to go back almost 20 years. They know we can be relied upon to deliver new ideas for features or agreed material that is so styled to their brief they barely have to change a word.

Internal and external communications

External communications

Most companies will have some degree of responsibility for the communities they work with. In the construction sector, the day to day operations of building sites impact heavily on the local community who at the very least need to be kept up to date with what’s happening.

  • Speaking opportunities
  • Newsletters
  • On-site posters/bulletins
  • Public meetings
  • Events

Internal communications

Handling change correctly can make or break a business. We offer:

  • Briefing advice/guidelines/action plans
  • Newsletters (print and digital)
  • Site posters

Social media

Hands holding mobile phone

A well-placed and well-timed social media post can deliver sales. But if you don’t have the manpower to manage a social media campaign, it can do more harm than good. We can advise which mediums to use and what levels of activity they require. And if you don’t have the manpower, we do!

Issue and crisis management

In an ideal world, a new client lacking a formal crisis management plan will agree they need one and enlist us to prepare it. However, if we are not able to work pro-actively, will can react to a situation once it develops.

We offer:

• Issue/crisis management plan formation

• Incident press office administration

• Crisis management training

Sponsorship and award development

We have an excellent track record of achieving industry recognition for our clients in their specialised sectors though national industry awards. Clients of ours are regularly shortlisted in award events that they didn’t even know about before we started digging for them. And even if they haven’t won, they have found the process so rewarding, they have gone on to sponsor them in future years.

Event management

Corporate hospitality still has a role to play in contemporary communications and can deliver not only an enhanced relationship but future requests for comment and free column inches.

A day at the races with key journalists, a product launch to key customers/media, an awards dinner for 100, or an anniversary dinner at a stately home with a budget of £250,000. No matter how big or small, we bring the same creativity and organisation to make whatever size event a memorable one.

Research and evaluation

Many of our B2B clients place as much importance on generating leads from their PR activities as raising their profile and we have been very successful in maximising both on sometimes tight budgets. Where we believe clients’ perception of themselves is at variance with their market’s and to the detriment of the future direction of the business, we recommend customer surveys. These typically kick off a campaign and can then be revisited to determine perceptional shifts.
